About the Agency for Persons with Disabilities

Our work is inspired by Florida’s APD.

APD Mission and Vision

Florida’s Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD) exists to support individuals with unique abilities and their families. According to the APD mission, the agency seeks to help people with disabilities live, learn and work within their communities by creating multiple pathways to possibilities. APD strives to ensure that every individual receives the supports and resources they need to lead meaningful lives.

The agency’s vision is a state where persons with developmental disabilities can achieve their personal goals, exercise choice and participate fully in community life. APD partners with providers, families and stakeholders to deliver quality services that foster independence, dignity and community integration.

How We Align

Lighthouse of Hope LLC is a proud provider of services funded through Florida’s iBudget Medicaid waiver program, which is overseen by APD. We share APD’s commitment to person‑centered planning and community inclusion. Our services—such as Personal Supports and Life Skills Development—are designed to help individuals achieve the outcomes outlined in their APD support plans.
